Former Utah Utes kicker Andy Phillips revealed his mom stood up to the anonymous writer of a hate letter submitted due to her LGBTQ+ support. Accepting this lifestyle, however, is not easy for all.
The controversy started after Cynthia Phillips, the mom of former Utah Utes kicker Andy Phillips, displayed a rainbow flag on the front porch of her home in Sandy. The secondary schoolteacher and her neighbors received an anonymous letter according to Andy, who posted it on his Twitter page.
